The Bangui Exchange
Wednesday, 07 January 2009 01:30

There is lots of coming and going this week in Bangui. Please pray for the Mike Taylor medical team as they finish up their work and return to the States. Pray for both spiritual and physical healing for those who received care.

Please pray as well for Mark and Joy Sims, GBIM staff (formerly France) who arrive in Bangui tomorrow. Pray that their efforts would have lasting results as they minister from January 7 to February 5. Joy will teach a quilting class to the wives of seminary students and Mark will teach in the seminary, and at the Bible Institute in Mbaiki."

Please pray also for Tim and Ginger Hock as they return to Bangui on the same plane as Sims, after four months of Home Ministry. Ginger is Team Leader for Project Hope and Charite’s Hand in Hand project for orphan schools (currently numbering at least 18) and Tim is responsible for maintenance on vehicles and buildings on the Bangui station, as well as being involved with the Bayaka Pygmy work down in the forest region.

A Family Project: The Jesus Storybook Bible
Monday, 05 January 2009 16:25

jsb_burgessfamilyIf you are still looking for a perfect little gift for small children or grandchildren, The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones might be an answer. This is an easy read children's Bible that beautifully tells how each story of the Bible points to the Grand Narrative of redemption in Jesus. It is professionally done with good illustrations and will allow your kids (4-12) to do the reading if and when they are able. The translation of this Children’s book into French was a family project for the Greg Burgesses, GBIM staff, France.

Wednesday, 31 December 2008 15:46

dscf0036-croppedIt was a great joy for us to return home to CAR after ten weeks of visits to USA churches, the ministerium, and a Focus Retreat. For us it was a blessed time; we saw how the blood of Jesus unites us in spite of the differences of cultures, continents and color of skin. Claire and I sensed a brotherhood and enthusiasm in the partnership of the ministry of Jesus in Central Africa by our brothers and sisters in the USA.

Good Report From Riverside Church Portugal
Tuesday, 23 December 2008 13:25
Bill Mason, founder and lead elder of the International Church in Porto, Portugal is pleased to report that the number of regular attenders has grown to 35-40 people. Bill states that the best news is that “At the same time as the numbers have grown, so has the commitment and the spiritual maturity of our regulars. Deep and long-standing issues are being resolved and God has clearly been working in the hearts, minds and spirits of people."

GBIM staff in Porto were deeply involved in the beginning days of Riverside and they rejoice to see this fruit which has come as a result of intense prayer and dedication.
