A 7.0-magnitude quake, Haiti's worst in two centuries, struck south of the capital, Port-au-Prince and was quickly followed by two aftershocks of 5.9 and 5.5 magnitude.. The Red Cross says up to 3,000,000 people have been affected. Grace Brethren International Missions in Partnership with Convoy of Hope and The American Red Cross is working on a plan to assist those affected by this disaster in Haiti and to the Haitian population here in the United States.
President Rene Preval says that thousands are feared dead from the horrific devastation caused by the huge quake. Describing the scene in the capital as "unimaginable", he reported: "Parliament has collapsed. The tax office has collapsed. Schools have collapsed. Hospitals have collapsed."
You can offer hope to our Haitian brothers and sisters in Christ through your generous gifts and faithful prayers.
